Trends reporting

I have tried to understand the whole meaning of the trend report. I get
it for the most part but there are some things that I cannot understand.
I have RTFM and searched the forums but I cannot find a good description
of all of the options shown. In particularly, where there are gaps of
neither red nor green but only white? I tried to correlate this with an
availability report but I can see no correlation. Can anyone shed some
light on this for me.
