Probably, most are more knowlegable than me, and certainly more wise.

I agree. But I also feel that these mailing lists are staffed by volunteers
and people should be made aware that there is a cost to posing trivial
questions. Since that cost is usually developer time, the cost borne by us
all is slower development.

To an extent. However, I could not really develop the plugins but refuse to
read the list, could I?

Which is how I tried to answer the first question about mysql. Examining the
output of configure to find the mysql problem would have also shown the
pgqsl libraries were missing. On that basis, I felt the questioner should be
given more pointed encouragement to try their own skills before posting.
Along with the sarcasm, I tried my very best to ensure the question was
answered as completely as I could with the information provided.

IMHO, people using the mailing list should respect the time given them by
trying to not abuse it. Also IMHO, the poster did not. Of course I could be
wrong.
I'm sorry if you feel otherwise. And I'm sorry if you disapprove of my
methods. But I'm not sure I'd do differently if I saw the same set of
questions again. I suppose you could step in and answer these questions
before me, then I would not bother to. In fact, I can think of no better way
to keep my sometimes sarcastic little proddings off the net. (that is not
sarcasm by the way -- it is a simple fact).
