NRPE on solaris

Got some binaries from someone on this list for solaris. However when I
manually run the nrpe daemon with a -d (stand alone) and the config file, it
just returns me to the cmdline prompt. A ps search for the daemon yields
nothing. Seems like running it does nothing. If I don't specify and flag, I
get the standard nrpe help message so it works in that sense. If I run it
under inetd, it also doesn't seem to run as I can't open any connections to
it.
 
I'm curious if anyone else has a precompiled solaris binary for nrpe? Or any
suggestions on troubleshooting this are welcome.
