error on central nagios server

Hi,

I have one central nagios server running nsca and a number of hosts sending
data to it. I have noticed some errors and think they are due to the
central server trying to force a check when the results from the remote
hosts are stale.

Here are the log entries on the central host:

Feb 27 06:17:32 otto nagios: Warning: The results of service 'ping AP 5' on host 'foo.bar.com' are stale by 26 seconds (threshold=75 seconds).  I'm forcing an immediate check of the service.

Feb 27 06:17:43 otto nagios: SERVICE ALERT: foo.bar.com;ping AP 5;UNKNOWN;SOFT;1;check_tcp: Unknown argument: (null)

How can I stop the central server from forcing a check?
