Strange Directories

Every so often, I'll take a look around the structure of my nagios directory tree and I've been noticing that strange random directories seem to keep popping up and never disappear (even when I restart the nagios service). All of the directories are created within my base nagios root (/usr/local/nagios). I'm not sure if this is something I've done wrong on my part of if others have noticed similar behavior.
If you've seen something similar to this, please enlighten me.
Almost looks like a `mktemp -d`kind of output, but I don't have any scripts that call mktemp.
Thanks,
- Judd
