nagios and Solaris 8 problem

I have Solaris with the Jan 2003 patchcluster installed.

Everything appears to compile properly.
However if I try to call the nagios binary i get an error:

root at barbrady # ./nagios -v /opt/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg
nagios: Cannot find ELF
Killed

If I do an ldd on nagios and get ldd: nagios: file has insecure interpreter
ELF

Does anyone have any ideas what is wrong??
