Checking SSL certificate on Apache server

I am trying to check the SSL certificate on an apache server running on
Solaris.  I get the following error when using check_http at the command
line:


Check_http -v -S -C 14 servername.domainname 
SSL seeding: OK
ERROR: Cannot retrieve server certificate.


Plugin: check_http (nagios-plugins 1.3.1) 1.24.2.4

Has anyone seen this before, or know how to fix this.  I am checking
other certs and it works fine. This is the only server that I am running
with apache and an SSL cert.
