I'm no expert on APAN, but try changing disk_usage to disk-usage in your apan.cfg.

Hope that helps,

Subject: [Nagios-users] How to monitor disk usage with Apan ...

Hi Nagi Gurus,

I have a challenge here.

I am monitoring a Windows 2000 server from my Nagios server. The Win2K machine has NSClient service running. Monitoring is happening perfectly for ping, disk usage, exchange counters, etc. When I use Apan for generating graph, I am facing challenge. This problem comes in disk usage. It works good with Ping. Monitoring is happening and graph is also coming for Ping.

I am unable to get results as well as graphs for disk usage.

I am getting the following output in the monitoring screen.

disk -usage
status  : unknown
status information : No perf-definition for the service

Error displays in the console :
/usr/local/nagios/apan/apan.sh: line 15: [: too many arguments

/tmp/apan.debug has the following error :

Args: nt-disk PARAMANP disk-usage 1067925657 150 100 Could not insert '' , " into

The following is the setting of services.cfg :

# Service definition
define service{
        use generic-service ; Name of service template to use

        host_name                       PARAMANP
        service_description             disk-usage
         is_volatile                    0
         check_period                   24x7
         max_check_attempts             10
         normal_check_interval          1
         retry_check_interval           1
         contact_groups                 nt-admins

         notification_interval          120
         notification_period            24x7
         notification_options           w,u,c,r
        check_command           apan!nt-disk!150!100
        }

The following is the setting of serviceextinfo.cfg:

define          serviceextinfo{
host_name       PARAMANP
service_description     disk-usage
notes_url       /nagios/cgi-bin/apan.cgi?host=PARAMANP&service=disk-usage
icon_image      graph.png
icon_image_alt  View graphs
}

The following is the setting of apan.cfg:

PARAMANP;disk_usage;/usr/local/nagios/rrd/PARAMANP_disk_usage.rrd;c|d;c-used:AREA c-free:STACK c-used:AREA c-free:STACK;Disk usage;Bytes;-l 1 -b 1024;

..

I am unable to monitor the disk usage when implementing Apan. If there is no Apan, the check_nt works fine for disk usage. I want to monitor disk usage as well as graph. How to proceed on this ? Please help me.

Any help will be appreciated. Thanks
