Just to clarify, its not 'Nagios' that determines which NIC to use but the
individual plugins. I don't believe there is any code in the existing
plugins to support this. The C-based plugins could probably be patched to
support this as an option, but the others probably can't be switched to
handle this. If there is a Linux way to 'wrap' a command to give it a
different default IP then that would help but I am not aware of such.
