notifications not working

Maybe this info can help... try everything just like it was, except that i 
made the service line simple, like this...

check_command	check_log!/var/log/auth.log!/var/tmp/auth.log.nagios!BAD

Nagios still sets the critical state in the interface, but the mail is never 
send (again, /var/log/maillog is untouched).So, this doesn't look like a 
->'<- problem...

Any other idea can help...
