Info about scheduled downtime

I emailed a few weeks ago asking for a script or process that
automatically checks for scheduled downtimes.  Well, what I ended up
doing was installing swatch and checking the /var/log/messages file for
SCHEDULED_* and shooting an email if an event occurs. Works great!
