nagios access database

Hi,
 
I'm name is Marcelo, I am science computer student and I have a project to use Nagios. 
However, I'm having some problems in order to configure Nagios access Mysql database or Postgresql. I would like to know if somebody have any expertise with it. If so, Can anybody help me?
