Correct. That plugin has to run on the machine you want to check
the disk of.

You need some way of executing the plugin remotely and returning
results. Options are check_by_ssh, NCSA, NRPE and establishing a
VPN between the two machines, each have their own advantages and
disadvantages. Another way of doing it is with check_snmp.
