No data in mysql database

Dear All,
Hi!
I just compiled Nagios with mysql support.
And I made a few changes in the configuration files.
Then I created 12 tables using the  scripts given in /contrib/database.

(1)I added the following lines in cgi.cfg:
x?ddb_host=localhost
x?ddb_port=3306
x?ddb_database=mydb
x?ddb_username=root
x?ddb_password=root

(2)I added the following lines in resource.cfg:
x?ddb_host=localhost
x?ddb_port=3306
x?ddb_database=mydb
x?ddb_username=root
x?ddb_password=root
x?ddb_optimize_data=1

(3)I commented this line in resource.cfg:
# downtime_file=/usr/local/nagios/var/downtime.log
# comment_file=/usr/local/nagios/var/comment.log
....

But there is no data in the tables. Have I missed any important steps?
