I don't have any experience with using templates for contacts but I'm
'bothered' by the use of contact_name in the template. It just seems
counter-intuitive to me in the same way that specifying a host_name in a
template would be. What happens if you remove that and alias from the
template? Also, the documentation doesn't explicitly say that you can
use templates for contacts but it doesn't explicitly say you can't
either so that's a question, at least in my mind. It is implied that it
should work though.
