Set
active_checks_enabled = 1
check_period = never
(and then define 'never' to be what it says!)
This is how we do it, so as to be able to see which checks are *really*
disabled and which are just passive. Then, we use the freshness check to
set status to 'unknown' if a passive check has not been received in a
certain maximum interval time.
