Well,
Part of the answer is how secure is your web server. For example I have nagios running on apache.
My apache server is running ssl, I have my own CA, which I signed the cert for apache with. I also
required Apache to verify that the client has a valid cert signed by the same CA.
So in order for internal users to have access to the site they have to import a cert signed by the
CA I have in the office.
I also have authentication with nagios, so one level have view access and the second have
configuration access.
