Coming back from scheduled downtime

Is there a good way (besides hacking downtime.log) to bring a system out of
scheduled downtime? I've noticed that if I put a system into scheduled
downtime (say for 2 weeks), I have no way to remove it from that downtime
until the full 2 weeks has passed, other than hacking the downtime.log file.
