updating Nagios config manually with NagMIN

Greetings list,
I am interested in trying NagMIN but have one concern - I need to be
able to use a custom perl script to update nagios config files (the
script adds hosts, services, apan configs and creates rrds). Is this
possible without screwing up NagMIN's config info?
