No Statusmap-Images in Nagios 1.2

here is an example from my cfg file ... the only
difference I see is that I am using .gif image files.

define hostextinfo {
        host_name       ARC-ROUTER-110
        icon_image      my_router.gif
        gd2_image       my_router.gd2
        2d_coords       1110,425
}
