All very useful, thanks for the info. I had always thought that 'u' was
unknown state, and was useful for when a plug-in errored, but I see that was
wrong. That will most likely fix a lot of problems for me in reporting.
I haven't really had a chance to play with auth in Nagios just yet, as all I
have is the Nagios login and a guest login for people to see what I have
been up to. If I can control what is viewable by username, then that will be
great.
Grouping by hostgroup I have not done yet, and I will see if I can do as you
suggested. I only use service detail as a base because it seems to give a
lot of good info at once, and for some reason my Nagios made that the
default page.
I am currently using a standard Nagios 1.2, and I have no idea what NagMIN
is. I have only seen it mentioned on the mailing list, but not on any
websites. I guess I should do some digging. Thanks for the info again.
