Configuring Web Server Authentication

 

 

The second step is to create a file named .htaccess in the root your CGI
directory 

 

AuthName "Nagios Access"

AuthType Basic

AuthUserFile /usr/local/nagios/etc/htpasswd.users

require valid-user

 

I have created .htaccess file separately under /usr/local/nagios/sbin,

/usr/local/nagios/share and /usr/local/apache/bin/cgi-bin and copied the
above stuff.

 

When tried to run the script, I got a common same error.

 

What I have noticed is there is no htpasswd.users file under
/usr/local/nagios/etc.
