Dear Sir,
I am sorry to answer so late in the game but is the problem that
check_ping won't build ?
The only show stopper in the configure output was the failure to find
the ping command.
If that is the case, all I can suggest are some kludgy workarounds after
you have determined the path to ping on the problem host.
1 first kludge
Configure _seems_ to be looking in your $PATH (ie the user you have
used to build plugins that is prob not too disimilar to the nagios
user) for ping.
Is it there ?
Yes => I give up; see option 2.
No => make sure it is (ln or ln -s come to mind)
You may also be able to use the configure --with-ping-command to give a
complete ping command with path and options/args.
2 not such a kludge
Forget about it. check_ping has certain disads anyway. Try check_icmp.
You'll prob need to search the archives to find it. Andreas Ericsson is
the author and maintainer.
HTH,
If check_ping is not actually the problem, please repost. I can't see
any problems with openSSL; is that the problem - not building check_hhtp
with SSL support ?
Yours sincerely.
