Log monitoring?

I would use the check_log2.pl to do the log checking.. check_log uses diff
and if the log files are large, can really bring down performance.

Subject: [Nagios-users] Log monitoring?

Is there any plugin to allow me to monitor logfiles and do stuff like
"if you have not seen this pattern in X minutes, sound the alarm".

Is there any plugin to check for files and file age in a directory? "If
there are more then X files here, or if the files are older then X
minutes, sound the alarm"?
