Unknown state flapping

That's interesting but if we're to help a proper question and supporting
information would be useful don't you think? What are the check
commands? What are the host and service definitions? What's common about
the ones that return unknown?  What version of nagios and the plugins
are you using? What are the OS's involved? Basically we don't know
anything about what you're doing. Most importantly, what have you done
so far to solve the problem on your own?
