Yes, we do this. We also use the same agent (actually pNSclient 2.0.1, but
NC_net does the same thing) to obtain numbers to graph with MRTG. Works
fine, you just need to pick the right counters.
We check for inbound/outbound queue length, SMTP, services up, and message
throughput.
