Well basically yes. It did actually last longer (like 6 months), but I 
aproximately worked
only half of the time on the nagios project and on other projects the rest 
of the
time. So that my time estimate has already incorporated work on other 
projects and
I broke it down to an estimate of 3 months actual worktime.

monitoring?

Currently monitoring 7 different sites with aprox. 600 services on 200 
hosts.
I have to admit that I didn't add any of our unix servers yet since those 
are not a big issue, they never
really have any problems ;) I only monitor the applications running on 
them.
For Windows-Servers I mainly deployed NSClient remotely, doing standard 
checks (mem, disks, cpu, etc).
Checks of SAP, MySQL, Oracle, MS-SQL, general Webservers, VPN tunnels to 
our remote sites, SNMP
checks of all routers/firewalls and our data center monitoring system 
(temperature, air moisture, water sensor),
etc.pp. Quite a big list. Once you set up a good structure of templates 
and such adding the actual hosts/services
works like a charm. Took me 4 weeks to work out the templates and like 2 
days to actually enter the
hosts/services.
