Router has many interfaces(and ip's) what will be the parent?

I think I know what my problem is. I've asked our network administrator
and found out that our switch isn't manageable(3com 24 port). It can't be
assigned any ip. I have investigate the device further and there isn't any
unusual port separated from those 24 ports it has, unlike the other
switch(cisco) we also have. Worst, both of the 158 and 128 subnet uses the
same switch model(24 port 3com)
Do I have any other option for this smart host monitoring?
