Checking Windows event log entries

Hi List!

I would like to check Windows 2000 Server Event Logs to fire an alarm, when
a certain entry appears.

As I remember it was a topic some time ago, but I can't find it int he
archive.

I play with pNSClient today and read its documentation, but as I can see it
is not capable of doing this.

How can I do this?

Any ide would be appreciated.
