Plugin to check that process is running?

Is there a plugin that can check to see if process
xxxxx is running on a unix machine?(Ie. ps ax|grep
xxxx) I'd like to combine it with a remote ssh check,
but I haven't found a plugin, thought I'd check before
writing something...
