U don't happen to have a example. I look in doc the closer I seem to get was on external commands in nagios documentation. If u have a example would be great. Otherwise thank heaps for direction

Hiyee there Jack,
Whether this is accomplishable via a NAGIOS default plugin i ain't
too sure but here's what i would do in your position.
Write some shell/awk/perl which does a consistent ping, evaluates
the condition you want and then once the time and criteria of the same
are fulfilled return a 0/1/2/3 to the calling nagios Daemon towards
signifying the service state.
For more info on return values please check the nagios documentations.
