Critical - Warning - Critical Notifications

Is it possible to configure Nagios so that I don't get repeat notifications
when a host goes from CRIT to WARN and then back to CRIT?  It would seem
that a non-OK state would generate one notification, or at least that would
be a configurable option.  If I disable 'w' notifciaitons would that
eliminate the second CRIT notification?
