Nagios printer plugin for Savin printers

I am currently running the Nagios 2.0b3 with plugins 1.4.  I am looking to 
see if anyone has written/modified/figured out a way to monitor a Savin 
printer.  I have looked at the check_hpjd plugin and it does not work.  It 
appears to want to talk on the 9100 port and Savin wants to talk on the 
snmp port.

I guess I could do some modifying on the hpjd module, but was wondering if 
anyone has been down this road before--I just don't like re-inventing the 
wheel if I don't have to.  Searches via google have not turned up anything.

The machine does use the printer-mib and the hr-resources mib as well as a 
their own.
