Setting up distributed monitoring

Hi list

I'm having nagios pretty working now. Now I have to add 3 other sites to
this server. I thought there was an option to use a distributed model.
But I found out there is only a passive system. I want to actively check
those site. Is there a workaround to still get it centralized those data
or is there only the option to check active from the main server ?

Will be happy to hear the opinions.
