How to visualize status map

On my server, I have the gd library installed but I cannot see a
background image on the status map.  My server icons work fine, but no
background.  I have posted this twice before and never gotten any
response.  Is there anyone out there who uses a background image?

Solaris 8 (sparc), Nagios 1.2

Make sure you download gd library from http://www.boutell.com/gd/ 

I believe that statusmap.cgi needs this library to display the maps.
