Threshold Monitoring.

Greetings to all,
The other night I realized that one of my T-1's to a specific location
was taking errors. Not a huge amount at a time, but what we refer to as
"trickle" errors. So it dawned on me that we are not doing any sort of
threshold monitoring, aside from monitoring CPU's, memory and such.
Specifically, I'm talking about on my Cisco's, but ultimately I wouldn't
mind monitoring right down to the PC port level, but that might be to
much...
Is there anyone that is using Nagios to monitor things like port errors
and port utilization or could recommend what to do?
Thanks,
