Status Map icons

I just tried the method Andrew outlined below (I have rtfm, and it suggests
same), but still no joy :-(. Of course, icons are something I could live
without, but . Must the image files be owned by a particular user (mine
were originally owned by root; I changed that to apache, just to see what
would happen). I also changed permissions to 777. Nothin' seems to work
(oh, the pain).
Any other ideas?

Hmmm...for what it's worth, I keep my host and service extended info
configurations in a separate file. In cgi.cfg I have:
xedtemplate_config_file=/usr/local/nagios/etc/hostextinfo.cfg
and then in hostextinfo.cfg I configure hosts like:
define hostextinfo{
host_name LinuxHost
icon_image redhat.png
statusmap_image redhat.png
}
I don't see any reason what you're doing shouldn't work, but I know the
above works well for me.

Thanks for the reply. Using gifs was only my latest attempt to make this
work. Jpgs and pngs are also included in the directory, but none seem to
work. Is it a permissions thing?

GIF's aren't supported in the statusmap. You'll need to convert the images
to .png or .jpg and they'll work fine.

Hello to all. I've had nagios 1.2 working successfully for a while now.
However, I've never been able to get Status Map icons to work. Here's a
line from my cgi.cfg file that I thought would make the icons appear:
hostextinfo[norwell]=;/base/redhat.gif;/base/redhat.gif;/base/redhat.gif;Cen
tOS 3.3;;;
My logos are located in /usr/share/nagios/images/logos/base.
I'm guessing this has been asked before; if so, sorry. I'd appreciate info.
on how to make the logos appear, or pointing me to info. that will show me
how.
Many thanks.
Dimitri
