For your problem with 'check_procs', I can't help because I don't use this
plugin. I just can tell you that the plugin is started by the monitoring
process, as it should every 'n' minutes, but he doesn't like its command
line arguments. You must first find your define section with a line like
'command_line $USER1$/check_procs ...', check this line, and try it manually
until you find the correct syntax. For an explanation of the meaning of
'$ARGn$', look in the documentation ('Using macros in commands').
For your authentification error : if you get your error message without
being prompted for a username/password, you certainly missed the fact that
you need to establish an authentification scheme in your http server, for
nagios to be able to identify its user. You will find everything you need
about this configuration in the documentation : chapter 'Configuring
authorization for the CGIs'.
