Status map

Hi all,
I've been trying (and failing) to get my head around the status map layout (Nagios 1.2, plugins 1.4). I've defined dependencies (do they have any bearing on the map at all?) and fiddled around with co-ordinates in hostextinfo.cfg and I still can't get my status map to look anything like the nifty concentric designs that I see in all the Nagios tutorials. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ian.
