Variables with NRPE?

Greetings all,
  Before I go through all the trouble of actually testing this, can
someone tell me if it's possible to send variables with your check_nrpe
command? Something along the lines of command_line  $USER1$/check_nrpe
-H $HOSTADDRESS$ -c my_check $ARG1$ $ARG2$? It would simplify things
here for me greatly. Thanks.
