Using $ in password

I ran into a similar issue when using the check_snmp plugin and my
ultimate solution was to write a small wrapper shell script with the
password hard coded in it and call that as your check command.
Example one line script called check_httpp
check_http -p $1 -I $2 -t 120 -a username:passsword
then define your check command:
define command{
command_name check_httpp
command_line $USER1$/check_httpp $ARG1$ $HOSTADDRESS$
}
then define your service:
define service{
use generic-service
host_name XXXX
service_description YYY
contact_groups ZZZ
check_command check_httpp!61002
}
