I'm having some difficulty with the
check_smb_shares.pl check. Everything works fine if I
execute the script from the command line (however I do
get a "read_socket_with_timeout: timeout read. read
error = Connection reset by peer." error but the next
line has the correct response "(11 Directorys, 1
Files, 0 Links)...").
But when I add the check to checkcommands.cfg and
services.cfg and restart nagios... when the check runs
it returns: "**ePN 'check_smb_shares.pl' Can't create
/root/.smb/smb.conf : Permission denied"
A quick check to the process list shows the nagios
binary running as the user nagios as well as all the
checks that happen to be running at the time I
executed a 'ps'. If I run the check_smb_shares.pl as
the user nagios from the command line it returns the
correct result.
Any thoughts?
