Problems with 2.4 Nagios

Re the problems I have had using the plugin check_file_age I have
discovered why it was not working. The file I check each day uses a
wildcard as file name changes each day. This worked fine in earlier
version of Nagios and also works from command line. However it will not
work when using a wildcard to define file to check in version 2.4. if I
use the full name and it works fine.
Does anyone know why the change in Nagios and how to fix?
