Init error

Did you check permission?  Mine shows:

   drwxr-xr-x   13 root     root         4096 Jul  5 16:28 /var/run/
   -rw-r--r--    1 root     root            6 Jul  5 16:28 /var/run/nagios.pid

While the processes all end up running as nagios, the
pid file gets written by root.
