statusmap background images

I'm currently running nagios 2.5 on RHEL4 (installed via rpm) and I'm
having issues getting the statusmap_background_image to work. All the
other status map images defined in host extended info work fine.


relavent portion from cgi.cfg is
statusmap_background_image=higloss.gd2

and
physical_html_path=/usr/share/nagios

So if I'm reading the documentation properly it should be looking for
/usr/share/nagios/images/higloss.gd2, which exists and has the proper
permissions.

Is there a defined size required for the statusmap background?

Am I missing something obvious? Any hints would be appreciated.
