switch host definition: no IP

Or define the switch as a device in your configs and give it the IP
Address of the firewall interface. Then it could act as the parent to
the other two devices.

You can not check an unmanaged switch. It is that simple. ("You can't
change the laws of physics captain")

The closest you can get is to verify if the interface from the firewall
is up and let the firewall be the parent of servers.
