Nagios2 on ubuntu server

Dear Jay,
I decided to compile and install it from source. I can say, it was a good 
decision. The only glitch was that I had to reinstall 
Here is what I did after enabeling the dev-repositories in 
/etc/apt/sources.list
 # apt-get install gcc
 # apt-get --reinstall install libc6-dev
 # apt-get install make
