Hmmm. I have worked with Spectrum from Cabletron and HP-OV and have also
discusses a lot with people into Cisco's management tool.
Somehow everyone seems to expect miracles from the autodiscovery tools.
But most of the tech support people I have spoken were strongly against
using it. In their experience it was the fast route to getting a totally
messed up system.
My own experience with the autodiscovery of the various products only
seems to confirm this.
