nagios hangs randomly after reload

Hi list,

 

we use nagios 2.4 and have problems with hangs after reloads in about one of four times.

 

We use these configs:

 

main.cfg:

[...]

retain_state_information=1

state_retention_file=/usr/local/nagios/var/retention.dat

retention_update_interval=10

use_retained_program_state=1

use_retained_scheduling_info=1

 

 

and 

 

retain_status_information               1

retain_nonstatus_information            1

 

in every host and service object.

I have no suggestions - things look okay.

 

 

Every time the problem occurs nagios is still running and all cgi work just fine, but the checks don't get scheduled anymore.

Has anyone an idea about the problem or any suggestions about our config?
