Can Nagios Do Simulated End User Transactions for Web-Based Applications?

I've used the Apache Jmeter application to design end-user tests,
wrapped them up with a bash script, that I then use as a check-plugin in
nagios for this purpose. It is fairly easy to do once you get familiar
with Jmeter. Works well for monitoring general application
availability/response times.
